Life Skills Development

Life Skills Development sits under the NDIS Capacity Building budget, in the support category known as Improved Daily Living. This funding is about building skills for the long-term covering the practical, social and personal skills that support you to live as independently as possible, in line with your individual NDIS goals.

Every session is built around the goals you want to achieve. We keep simple progress notes that show how you are connecting to your goals which is helpful for your plan reviews.

Daily Living Skills

Learning the practical skills that make home life run smoothly and comfortably — including personal hygiene and grooming routines, getting dressed, preparing meals, grocery shopping, managing a household budget, cleaning and laundry, and understanding how to manage medications safely.

Communication Skills

Building confidence in how you communicate — whether that is face to face, on the phone, by email or using communication devices. We also support reading, writing, and numeracy skills that help you stay informed and in control of your own life.

Social Skills and Relationships

Getting Around Your Community

Financial Skills and Money Management

Understanding how to manage money with confidence — from everyday budgeting and using EFTPOS, to understanding bills, banking, and saving. Practical financial skills support real independence. (Note- we do not offer financial advice or manage participants money, but we help you make a budget and understand practical financial skills).

Health and Wellbeing

Understanding and looking after your own health including healthy eating, exercise, emotional wellbeing, self-care routines and knowing how to access health services when you need them. When you feel well, everything is possible.

Employment Readiness

We also offer dedicated Get Ready for Employment supports for participants with this goal in their NDIS plan.
