Cleaner / Support Worker

A combined role — high-quality cleaning, with the chance to provide low-level support.

 

As a Cleaner / Support Worker at SupportedPlus, you will primarily provide high-quality domestic cleaning in participants’ homes, with the opportunity to provide low-level community and in-home support as needed. This role suits someone who takes pride in a clean, well-kept home and also enjoys connecting with people and helping out wherever it’s needed.

We respect each participant’s choices, culture, identity and voice, so support is safe, dignified and genuinely theirs. Participants are always involved in decisions about their own support — our team’s role is to listen, learn each person’s routine, and deliver support with respect, every time.

The people we support range in age from 17 years and upwards, and may be living with physical mobility challenges, neurological or cognitive conditions, intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder, acquired brain injury, mental health conditions, or psycho-social disability, including high and complex support needs. Support is delivered flexibly across different days and hours, in participants’ own homes and communities.

 

Role Responsibilities

  1. Cleaning (Primary)

Your main responsibility is routine domestic cleaning in participants’ homes, including:

  • Vacuuming carpets and mopping or sweeping hard floors
  • Tidying rooms, emptying bins and removing waste and recyclables
  • Cleaning and disinfecting kitchens, bathrooms and toilets
  • Cleaning windows and glass surfaces
  • Using cleaning products safely and in line with health and safety requirements
  • Documenting cleaning activities as instructed, and following WHS and infection control practices
  1. Support Work (Secondary, low-level needs)

You may also be requested to provide low-level support to participants, which may include:

  • Assisting with daily living tasks and building participant independence
  • Supporting access to community activities, outings and recreation
  • Providing domestic assistance
  • Accompanying participants on community access activities and transport assistance
  • Always upholding participant dignity, privacy and choice

  • Valid Driver’s Licence and a reliable, registered and insured vehicle
  • National Police Check
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
